"The room, although compact, was clean and comfortable. Nice view out the rear of the property of the river. Free parking. Breakfast was self-serve, pretty basic as advertised. Bread, jams, peanut butter, butter, cereal, milk, yogurt. Toaster, coffee maker and kettle available for our use for tea and coffee."

"The property was undergoing renovation on the main level but this didn't interfere much with our one-night stay as we were on an upper floor. Although there was a person at reception the afternoon we arrived and a different person there in the evening, the following morning, we saw no reception/breakfast room staff so just helped ourselves to the basic breakfast items that were set out or in the fridge. We had been told that ourselves and one other single person were the only guests that one night - perhaps the small number of guests explains why no reception staff were around the following morning?"

"Lovely old building, nicely renovated, lots of character: original wood floors, new ceramic tiles. Small but comfortable rooms. Very clean! Didn't try the breakfast: looked basic. Very helpful staff."

"We had some trouble with the cable TV. Not important, since the WIFI worked well for our laptops."

"Less than one hour out of Montreal one will find a Hostellerie (Motel) which is more a Hotel than a Motel. It’s much cheaper than in Montreal directly. Staff is friendly, the room offered more than expected: huge bed, place to sit, bath room with shower plus bath. Situated directly near the water it would be nice to sit there and watch the river. Now it was cold outside but the small heaters in room and bath did work excellent. Can’t understand negative statements here."

"We were passing through Montreal to the east coast and were glad to find a nice place to stay! Cozy room, comfy bed and nice breakfast before we hit the road again. Thx!"

"Hotel staff was great, we arrived late and they stayed up to accommodate us, despite having issues with the phone lines and communication, when we arrived all was good and someone helped us. Rooms where very clean and comfortable, bathrooms where excellent. The building was very charming and well maintained and rennovated."

"The breakfast space was very nice. Some of the food options where a little lacking and there where not enough dishes to accommodate everyone, for example all the bowls had been used for cereal before we arrived."

"My second night I had to relocate to another room, Nr. 26, which was still OK, but not that perfect as the first one. Still comfortable, clean, with simple but fine continental breakfast anytime downstairs, situated in a calm neighbourhood, next to lakes, with ample parking right in front, very good wi-fi and nice personnel."

"This room had no balcony and almost the whole window was blocked by an old and very noisy air-conditioning unit, I could not sleep with it on and the window cannot be opened due to the air-con unit blocking it, so the fresh air was missing. Also it was little noisy as situated towards the car park and entrance (noisy guests), the view was less romantic - so compared to room Nr. 23 the night before this was little less satisfied for me, but still good for 8 grades out of 10, dont understand me wrong, it is still a very good property and I highly recommend it if you dont mind staying quite far from Montreal."

"I gave this exceptional rating because I was given room Nr. 23, which is the only room with balcony, situated towards the garden and lake, very quiet, with good possibilities for fresh air through the balcony door, everything was perfect. Breakfast is simple (continental) downstairs and consists of cereals, toast bread, butter, marmelade, cocoa cream, tea, coffee, juice etc. and can be self-made anytime, even at 4am. Good parking right in front and free of charge. I liked the village atmosphere and calmness (but may be too far from Montreal, but for my purpose it was OK)."

"The air-conditioning was very noisy and old but I did not have to use it thanks ventilation through balcony door."
