"This was a last-minute, unplanned stay—our original hotel was so ghastly on arrival that I refused to stay, so I immediately searched and booked Le Bas Chitray, which was close by. What a gem it turned out to be. The staff were incredibly kind, the building and the grounds are beautifully maintained. They had just two seats left for dinner, which we snapped up—the fare was exceptional, French cuisine at its finest. Our room was impeccably decorated. We tried to extend our stay, but they were fully booked—and I can see why. If you get the chance, go. It’s absolutely worth it."

They made a fuss of our daughter birthday and served a delicious breakfast with what I think are the best croissants in France!! "We booked the room with a bath and it was a very nice staycation before heading to Vendee. We also brought our labrador and she was allowed to walk around. There was a donkey and cows. The owner offered us eggs, bread and juice for breakfast."

"Beautiful B&B in carefully renovated manor house, charming bedroom (La Chapelle), attention to detal, very clean and comfortable. Owner is very professional, attentive and helpful. Nice breakfasts and delicious dinners with a vegetarian option. Fast charging point for electric cars, spacios parking. I had a lovely stay and I would recommend this place without hesitation."
