"very good location uphill, very far from street noise. we enjoyed seaview and city lights at horizon, that fara we could see from the highest small house. we got some hammocks up there and were having fun next to the amazing nature whilst chilling on the balcony, thanks to guys who secured our stay"

"Beautiful views of Apia. We literally had the whole place to ourselves. It provided a calm quiet space that we didn't expect."

Unfortunately there were a few minor issues when we arrived, that eventually got sorted. Given the circumstances of the week prior & sending our condolences to the family, I'm not surprised things were a little off the mark. A broom in the unit be great to keep the floors free of bugs & dirt. We still loved our stay regardless.

"The room was beautiful opening up to a sea view. Could go kayaking from just outside the room. The lodge had kayaks and life jackets available to guests. Could also go fishing or swimming - just idyllic! The staff were also really helpful. I would most definitely stay here again."

I can’t think of anything i didn’t like

"Breakfast was fine - just remember to inform the owner the day before if you require breakfast. Ingrid, the co-owner, is a lovely woman and a fine, traditional cook. You will never leave the table hungry! Whilst she can offer beer at an extra cost, we tended to buy our own along with wine to drink at dinner. Again, you will need to inform Ingrid on the day if you require dinner later. There is no choice; me and my wife are both omnivores with no allergies or intollerances, and always liked what she prepared! Our lodge was spacious with a generous deck overlooking the beautiful gardens, and the sea in the background."

A small fridge in our lodge would have been a great bonus - however, we were free to use Ingrid's fridge. The shower was also a little on the dribbly side!

"The place is so nice. Restaurant is great & so are the rooms. The food was so good & the chef came out to tell us about the dishes, lovely!"

Arrived at 11.30am to some "surprises" from the night before & no beer in the restaurant - someone had a great night! Good for them! Cleaning was dealt with quickly & beer was eventually delivered. A one-off, I'm sure..

"Super place for the price. I had my own room with air con and a toilet and shower. It’s 800m about to the bus station and walking distance to most restaurants and stores in Savusavu. Practically next door to the historic Planters Club. Ron the owner is really kind and at the beginning drove me around to show me what I could do in Savusavu. I had a wonderful stay"

Sometimes it can get a bit noisy if the early morning ferry leaves for Suva a couple of times a week. I stayed in the front facing g the ocean. Maybe it was quieter at the back? But really there were no complaints

"Great location and the scenery was beautiful. Very nice and peaceful atmosphere. Located on hill tops and the views were amazing! Perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature. Surrounded by trees and was entertained by monkeys swinging through the branches. The rooms were also very spacious and allowed a comfortable stay. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient and meals were delivered to the room. Staff were very accommodating and overall had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay."

"The best in the village. Paul the owner is amazing.and loves his industry. The bungalows are so comfortable and well appointed. Bed was the most comfy in Laos. We could not fault anything. View from the hammock on the balcony outstanding."

Toilet was not flushing properly , but not much of a problem.

Unfortunately there weren’t enough cots but they ensured when we came back a couple of days later there was one for us. Perhaps a few more cots are needed.

He also helped me with all my activities and recommended great places for me to eat at or visit. The place was great with all that I needed, fully equipped kitchen, delicious breakfast etc.I will add my ink and voice to the rest of the travellers to say this hideout is highly recommended. "If you are looking for an exceptional place to stay on the Coromandel peninsula, this is it. The Lodge is quite large with everything you could need: kitchenette, couch and TV, comfy bed, large bathroom (tub + huge shower), terrace and the a spectacular view of Whitianga! As you would expect, it was very quiet, and the layout is such that, that you can enjoy total privacy. Carol and Warren were very welcoming and we had a nice chat every morning with Warren as he brought us a lovely breakfast. The road up the lodge is fairly steep but it wasn't an issue at all, so if you have a decent car I wouldn't worry about it. While in our particular case, we didn't have the best weather throughout the stay, we appreciated that the lodge is furnished so as to feel like home, which made for a cozy day in. I could tell that there was a lot of thought put into the furnishing and decorating of the lodge!"
