"It was like a real escape from reality - the hotel is located on a secluded beach, with the ocean right in front of it. Drinking a Kriola in the shadows of its veranda while hearing the waves was fantastic, as was watching the sun dip into the ocean in the evening. Not suitable for a swim though, as the currents are pretty tough. But a long walk on the beach is a must! Breakfast was great, we needed it served quite early in the morning and Albino arranged for it. He was a great and attentive host and helped us book а taxi upon departure. However, the taxi did not arrive on time, so he personally drove us to the airport which was very kind of him :)"

"Getting to the hotel can be a challenge especially if you travel with a heavy suitcase (which was not our case as we were backpacking). The taxis stop some 5 minutes walk away from it due to bad road conditions. The amenities are not very well maintained, the fan in our initial room was not working BUT we were transferred to another room right away (which I find positive). We only stayed for one night so these were not bothering us that much."

"The place is really nice, you sleep with the sound of the sea, it is on the beach were you can walk easily. The host is available to help you with your needs and questions. We think this place has a great potential! All the best for the new owners!"

"Tortuga is a very special spot just outside the city of Sao Felipe. The rooms are basic and ok. John, the new owner is a very friendly and helpfull person always ready to answer your question. He helped us to find a airplane ticket and assisted us to the airport."

"Personnel sympathique, emplacement parfait. La ville de Sao Filipe est accessible à pied (par la plage ou par les rues, plus rapide). Lieux formidable, parfait pour se reposer et profiter de la plage avant / après avoir séjourné dans la caldeira. Nous avons mangé sur place le soir, et c'était très bon !"

"J’ai aimé son emplacement au calme, on se laisse bercé par les vagues et pas trop loin du centre en taxi. On a vraiment les pieds dans l’eau la grande plage de sable noir, le personnel et le patron sont vraiment très sympa et à l'écoute si on a besoin d'un service. Le petit déjeuner est inclus et le soir Monica nous prépare le repas. On se sent comme à la maison."

"Nous remercions Albino qui nous a accueilli pour une première nuit à l’improviste, sa femme nous a préparé un délicieux repas extrêmement copieux. Nous avons longuement discuté avec lui qui parle un très bon français et avons appris beaucoup de choses sur l’île. Nous sommes revenus après la montée du volcan pour une dernière nuit sur cette île. L’emplacement est lunaire, le calme y est magique et les hôtes complètement disponible et très accueillants. Nous avions un peu eu froid la première nuit et à notre retour il nous avait préparé une couette. Le matelas est neuf et offre un super confort. Les équipements sont complètements fonctionnels et le linge est propre. Nous avions un vol très tôt le lendemain matin et Albino nous y a emmené après nous avoir préparé un petit déjeuné très copieux malgré l’heure. Merci beaucoup à vous. Nous garderons ce petit coin de paradis dans nos souvenirs pour longtemps."
