"We chose top floor despite stairs because verandah with comfortable chaise and breeze through old mango tree were beautiful on hot afternoon. Ambience so nice. Loved the access to pool at Promenade Hotel a short walk away at seafront. Room was quiet with good AC and great bed. Really enjoyed this heritage hotel. Each room we saw was different."
"Eggs cooked to order were great but we found pastries not so good despite bakeries and reputation of French pastry being big in Pondi. Bread and cereals a little average as in all South India but hoped Pondi might be better. Staff confused re whether breakfast was at Promenade hotel ( not so) as noted in some reviews. Lucky I knew about using their pool from older reviews most people did not seem to know. And it is so hot it made a huge difference. Capuchino was a treat."

"The property dates back to colonial history and its historical character has been well preserved. The four poster bed, multiple windows and high ceilings are all reminiscent of French architecture. The property is situated in the middle of French quarter and hence is within walkable distance from all major tourist attractions. There was a good spread for the breakfast, many bakery items, Indian food options as well as egg options."

"The entire property with a rich history is what made the place unique. The staff was super friendly and special mention to Prabhu who made us feel so comfortable and even went out of the way to celebrate me and my wife’s birthday. The place is always buzzing with people and with live music on Fridays and Saturdays makes it even more special"
"We booked a penthouse room and expected the rooms to be a little bigger. It is actually a small room but clean and well maintained. There is no lift in the property but i can understand it is because to maintain the heritage of the property"
